I developed Aeroma for my class, Visual Design Principles, at UC Berkeley Extension.

We were asked to pick a famous historical figure and create a product and brand inspired by them. I chose Amelia Earhart and created a perfume/cologne brand called Aeroma; I am quite proud of that pun.

I then picked assets from a visual design pack I bought a few years ago, this one, Heritage Type, and worked in Adobe Illustrator to design a logo. I researched and compiled 50-100 images that featured elements of “Amelia Earhart” as visual inspiration for the logo. These images included 1920s/1930s advertisements, newspapers, photos of Amelia Earhart herself, vintage planes, rusted metal, rough or charcoal-stained fabrics, and more. After choosing Pantone colors based on the researched images, I created the logo (featured below). I then created stationary and prototyped how the brand would be displayed (further below).

The project concluded with an event poster, sponsored by our original brand. I made one for social media like Instagram, one for printing (both in the last section), and one for a website in a “scroll” format (on the left).
